about

Karelys Luna (real name: Karelys Villanueva Rodriguez) is a digital artist and graphic designer born and raised in Puerto Rico. She started her journey as a self-taught digital artist in the year 2011, finding a passion for the art of photomanipulation and digital visuals. Her photomanipulation works show her love for haunting sceneries, surreal worlds and strangely beautiful characters that come to life through her artworks. Her style incorporates inspiration from themes such as: spirituality, the universe, self-discovery, dreams and nightmares, the afterlife and the world as how she wishes it could be. Her personal experiences are a really big inspiration to her, as well as visuals from movies, music, astronomy, dark aesthetics, high fashion and couture.

During her career as a digital artist, she has collaborated and worked for many musicians/bands, authors, publishing agencies, photographers, cosplayers and artists and has shown and sold her artworks in many different conventions across Puerto Rico.

As a commercial graphic designer, Karelys has had the privilege of working in many industries and many big projects in Puerto Rico. She is well known for her work on the Me Salvé retail stores rebrand and the DAVIDA Campaign rebrand. She also has experience working as a graphic designer for many industries including retail, marketing, publishing and print. Karelys has a bachelor’s degree in Digital Graphic Design from Atlantic University College in Puerto Rico and currently works as a freelance digital artist, graphic designer and content creator.
